CollabIT welcomes John Sheridan, Division Manager Business Improvement & Agency Services Divisions - AGIMO. John's responsibilities include implementing improvements in the ICT industry marketplace, the Government 2.0 Taskforce, the whole of government data centre approach and coordinated whole of government procurement in desktop hardware.
John will share his knowledge and experience of Government 2.0 with particular focus on opportunities for ICT SMEs in the Canberra region.
Michael Puckridge, Sales Manager, idOnDemand will also join us to discuss the evolution of smart card technologies to today's solutions. One credential can now be used to get users into their buildings as well as onto their computers, securing their valuable information.

A bit about our speakers
John Sheridan joined the Australian Public Service in 1999 after 22 years in the Australian Regular Army. On leaving the Army, John was appointed the Director of Capability Management in the Defence Science and Technology Organisation. In late 2000, he became the Senior Executive Assistant to the Chief Defence Scientist.
John served as the Assistant Secretary Information Architecture & Management in the Office of the Chief Information Officer in from September 2002 until April 2007. In this position, he was Defence’s lead IT architect. From April 2007 until August 2008, he was the acting Head of Information Systems Division in the Defence CIO Group. He was responsible for the design and development of Defence’s IT systems, leading a staff of over 500 public servants and contractors and a project portfolio in excess of $100m.
In August 2008, John was seconded to the Australian Government Information Management Office, in the Department of Finance and Deregulation, as the lead negotiator on the Whole of Government Microsoft Volume Sourcing Agreement, valued at over $250m over four years and providing services for over 210,000 staff. Following its successful conclusion in January 2009, John was appointed as the Division Manager of Business Improvement Division, in AGIMO, responsible for the work of the review teams addressing ICT business as usual budget reductions across the whole of government following the Government’s decision to implement Sir Peter Gershon’s recommendations on ICT reform. In this position, he has successfully led the effort to save $1 billion in ICT expenditure over 2009-2013.
From July 2009, John additionally assumed the duties of Division Manager of Agency Services Division. This division’s responsibilities include the Australian Government Online Service Portal project, Australia.gov.au, the Government 2.0 Taskforce, the whole of government data centre approach, coordinated whole of government procurement of desktop hardware and a range of telecommunications services, and implementing improvements in the ICT industry marketplace as recommended by Sir Peter Gershon.
Michael Puckridge is idOnDemand's Sales Manager for APAC. Michael has over 15 years experience in the identity and authentication arena. Michael has contributed to some of the largest PKI deployments in the Asia Pacific Region ranging from Singapore's National Certification Authority to involvement in the authentication solution for the Australian Government's Standard Business Reporting project.
Michael was recently ACT Regional Manager for Castelain, an authentication consultancy which specializes in PKI. He has been Product Manager for ActivIdentity's SecureLogin Single Sign-On solution which was deployed to over 2 Million seats globally including one of the world's largest insurers with over 180,000 users. Michael has managed and run training programs across the globe in Cryptography, PKI, smart card technologies, sales and other security applications for Baltimore Technologies, Protocom, ActivIdentity, MSN, Telstra Multimedia, Monster.com and others. Michael spent 7 years working for Amnesty International expanding their work in Australia and taking their campaigning online.
