Guest Speaker: Ann Steward, Australian Government Chief Information Officer and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Finance
The ACT Committee of the AIIA is delighted to have the Australian Government Chief Information Officer and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Finance, Ms Ann Steward, address the upcoming Canberra Manager's Forum June luncheon.
Following a distinguished career in the Public Sector Ann is now recognised as one of the most influential ICT leaders in Australia. During her address Ann will be providing an update on the Government's initiatives to date, outlining Government's plans for the future and reflecting on the challenging environment Government is currently operating within, especially in the post-budget context.
CollabIT Program - Collaboration Portal Launch
The CollabIT Program will be launching a business Collaboration Portal 'CollabIT Connect' during the luncheon.
CollabIT Connect is the portal that will connect companies to companies, enabling new business partnerships to be formed. Companies can register their business details and showcase who they are and what they can do. CollabIT Connect will become the first stop when doing business. The Portal is live and businesses can register their company details at www.collabitact.com.au.
The Portal has been funded by the Deparment of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research, and Tertiary Education and has been developed by CommsNet Group, Crystal Approach, Funnelback and Infinte Networks.

As Australian Government Chief Information Officer (AGCIO) and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Finance and Deregulation, Ann plays a vital and influential role in bringing about significant policy changes and practical improvements to the Australian Government’s use of ICT.
Ann’s office, the Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO), works across government to maintain Australia's position as a leader in the productive application of information and communications technologies.
AGIMO’s portfolio of work covers both policy and operational activities. AGIMO continues to lead the strategic direction for the government’s use of ICT with a focus on productivity and efficiency, together with the provision of value-add services to agencies.
Ann has many years experience in the public sector in Australia and the United Kingdom and has held a number of senior strategic policy development and managerial positions in the public service sector.
Ann is the chair of the OECD’s e-government network – a committee of ICT leaders across OECD member countries. Ann holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Canberra.
