AIIA's TechInnovate NSW is an ICT industry network which brings together local software companies to engage in co-operative activities, achieve collective competitiveness and develop new opportunities for Australia's software industry.
The ICT industry is a driving force behind the Australian economy’s productivity growth, contributing $36.2 billion, or 4.6 per cent of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product. Small-to-medium businesses (SMEs) are a vital part of Australia’s ICT industry.
In fact, SMEs make up nearly 80 per cent of all ICT businesses in Australia. The philosophy behind NSW.net is simple: that ICT SMEs can work with other complementary companies to overcome limitations, generate new ideas and ways of doing business and ultimately expand their market reach and penetration.
AIIA TechInnovate NSW is a unique way to assist these companies to develop innovative software and achieve global reach.
The TechInnovate NSW network helps people in our smaller developer community to:
- establish partnerships with like-minded Australian companies
- identify skills and synergies, share knowledge
- forge alliances with multinational corporations
- pool resources, and access new markets.
Cross industry and cross business collaboration is one of the most practical ways for organisations to effectively negotiate today's competitive global market place.
AIIA TechInnovate NSW was previously NSW.Net Cluster but has been expanded to account for wider interests of the people who participate in this cluster of software developers.

Networking events with industry-interesting topics are presented on a regular basis at the Grace Hotel, 77 York Street, Sydney. Our events are early morning affairs starting at 7.30am and finishing by 9.30am. The price is reasonable at $50 to share a continental breakfast with our guests and representatives from other technology-focused companies in order to identify skills and synergies, share knowledge and pool resources.
At each of our events, we also feature our short, sharp ‘Clever Connections’ networking introductory services to help all attendees to get to know one another.
Our 2011 Calendar of TechInnovate events 8 November 2011 : ‘The rise and
rise of hot desking and teleworking – openings for software developers’ "Work where you are and work where
you need to be"
The acceleration of hot desking and
teleworking
is creating
opportunities for developers to develop applications and solutions to introduce
or augment offerings in the hot desk and telework desktop and devices. December 2011 : ‘Developing
fashion for Christmas shopping’
Join
us for our last AIIA TechInnovate
NSW event of the year and with Christmas shopping upon us, we are looking at
software development in the realm of fashion.
The
fashion industry and all the ancillary businesses offer great opportunities for
software developers and technology firms.
Competition
is fierce in the fashion industry, and technology plays an important role both
on and off the catwalk. Think new materials, online retailing, robot
manufacturing, computer-aided fashion design programming, and so much more.
