Diversiti

Diversiti ICT Hiring Influence Report 2008
A national survey of qualifications and accreditations that influence employer hiring decisions in the ICT industry
7.15 am for 7.30am on 22 July, 23 July, 25 July, 29 July, for IT and HR managers and others
Level 12, 2 Park St, Sydney
As recruiters, we are often asked by candidates what ICT education is most highly valued by employers?, what factors really influence hiring decisions?, what are the best learning avenues for this profession? and what areas to specialise in, given the sheer speed at which technology and applications change in today’s business economy? In February and March this year, Diversiti surveyed clients and the industry on what factors influence employer hiring decisions for various ICT roles, from their core competency to interview skills. What makes one candidate stand out from the rest – is it their qualifications, accreditations, non-technical skills or experience? What factors outside of core competency influence a hiring decision – references, testing, resume or interview skills? Employer sentiment for the market outlook was explored, as well as likely hiring challenges (offshoring, skills shortages, flexible workforce, permanent vs contract, RPO etc). The Diversiti ICT Hiring Influence Report is a comprehensive report on the results of this survey, and the launch events will present the key findings to clients, industry representatives and media. Diversiti conducted the same industry study in 2006 and results will be compared from 2008 to 2006.
