Paul Brandling, Vice President & Managing Director - Hewlett-Packard South Pacific

Professional biography:

 

Vice President and Managing Director for HP South Pacific since 2002. Prior to that was VP and MD for Compaq South Pacific. 22 years experience in the Australian IT industry.


Responsibilities have been broad and diverse over this time embracing customer segments from consumer through to large enterprise and government, channel partners and alliances, products and services etc.


Also responsible for multiple local merger and integration exercises such as HP/Compaq and currently HP/EDS, in addition to various other smaller and local acquisitions such as CGNZ and Tower Software.


HP is the largest technology company in the world and directly employs 10000 people in Australia plus supports many thousand's more via our local partners.

Reasons for nominating and qualities brought to the board:

It has been my privilege to serve on the board of the AIIA since 2002. I am committed to making an ongoing contribution to the IT industry in Australia and I remain enthusiastic in continuing to represent the interests of AIIA members.


I believe my experience at a senior level in the industry is helpful to the Association. Also the presence of HP on the board as a major employer in Australia adds weight to the AIIA in engaging with Government on policy direction and issues.


I would welcome the opportunity to serve another term.
