AGIMO facilitated meetings to provide the ICT industry an opportunity to engage with the Data Centre Working Group. The meetings "allowed industry representatives an opportunity to inform the considerations regarding relevant data centre issues to the Working Group to help in forming the whole-of-government data centre strategy".
Each company had the opportunity of a 30 minute presentation to the Working Group on Tuesday 17, 24 or 31 March.
AGIMO asked that specific questions are addressed in the presentations. Full details of the questions, and the industry consultation process, are still available through the AusTender site, at
https://www.tenders.gov.au/?event=public.atm.show&ATMUUID=C415B455-93B8-D282-4FB19BD08650481D.
Note that registrations - with AGIMO - of interest in this process closed at 5PM on 16 March 2009.
Subsequent to this process, on 29 May AGIMO representatives met with AIIA's Infrastructure Focus Group (part of AIIA's Gershon Engagement team). The purpose of this meeting was to explore various issues that arose out of the March industry consultation activities. The issues discussed are identified in the AIIA members only discussion thread available through AIIA's Gershon wiki at:
