An informal request for information has been issued by the AGIMO team implementing the Sustainability of ICT recommendations in the Gershon Review. Their request is as follows:
"In order for agencies to improve their green ICT status, they need to know their energy consumption baseline. Often CIOs are not responsible for their electricity bill and at best may have an understanding of power usage in their data centres. We know there are tools that can assist with providing baseline data. In addition to acquiring tools, we are interested in sound practices and change strategies that agencies at different levels of 'maturity' might implement to firmly establish management attention on Green ICT performance."
Whilst no timeframe has been placed on the request for relevant information, it is clear that AGIMO is working to tight timeframes so the earlier you provide information, the more likely it is to be utilised by AGIMO.
Please forward information to AIIA's Jack Radik. All material supplied will be treated as confidential. Note that non-members of AIIA may also submit information in this manner - this is part of AIIA's role in providing a broad industry response to AGIMO.
