Shaping the business environment

Shaping the business environment

Representing the ICT industry

AIIA provides a collective voice for our industry, offering an industry-wide position on a diverse range of issues affecting AIIA members, the broader ICT community and ultimately, the Australian economy.

With more than 30 years leading the ICT industry, AIIA has established a powerful lobbying force for AIIA members to influence and shape Australia's business environment.  As the voice of the ICT industry, AIIA:

  • monitors government developments
  • influences the formation of government policies
  • promotes the importance of the ICT industry as a driver of productivity and economic prosperity for all Australians, through AIIA's ValueICT campaign
  • advocates a fair and equitable government procurement framework
  • presents industry viewpoints to government, industry, media and key stakeholders
  • provides opportunities for members to become involved in policy development through our taskforces and special interest groups.

AIIA’s Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and Government Business Taskforce meet regularly in Canberra with ministers, shadow ministers and other key decision-makers to ensure industry concerns gain high priority with both the government and opposition.

The media and governments around Australia recognise AIIA as the peak body and principal lobby group in the ICT sector - demonstrating AIIA’s ability to effectively represent its members. AIIA's overriding message is the importance of our industry and its technologies to the Australian economy and its people.
