7 December 2009

The Asia Pacific Digital Innovation Summit (APDIS) will launch in Melbourne on 16 December for two days of the largest international ICT trade, export and industry analysis program seen in Australia for many years.

Hosted by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA), over 500 international delegates from 25 economies across the Asia Pacific region have already registered to attend.

“The strong international response to APDIS demonstrates clear regional interest in the Australian ICT industry,” said AIIA CEO Ian Birks. “There are a wealth of businesses attending who will be looking to do business here, along with governments and enterprise seeking Australian partners for their expansion across the Asia Pacific region.”

“The Asia Pacific ICT industry has emerged as a world leader in digital technology. APDIS will focus on the future of the Australian industry in this critical region, the development of Australian ICT businesses of every size, and the positioning of Asia Pacific economies in the digital future.“

APDIS features two flagship events in the annual ICT calendar: the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards and the ASOCIO General Assembly. In parallel, a comprehensive program of international speakers and topical forums will focus on every element of the value chain for mission critical technology in government and business.

International specialists will examine issues ranging from the role of Digital Innovation to eGovernment, Workforce & Skills and Business Process Outsourcing. The sustainability conference will be the first opportunity for regional industry to assess the market implications of the Climate Change conference in Copenhagen.

With facilitated business matching, a dedicated technology expo and companies from multinational to SME’s attending from across the region, APDIS also delivers an unprecedented opportunity for all businesses to network with the most influential technology companies, buyers, leaders and strategists from the Asia Pacific.

“APDIS will examine every element of the value chain for mission critical technology in government and business. Whether your company excels in technology innovation, or is looking to understand and source the best possible technology solutions in modern enterprise, this is an opportunity not to be missed,” Mr Birks concluded.
