Professional biography:
Ron Gauci is Managing Director – Australia and New Zealand for Verizon Business.
Gauci has extensive management and leadership experience in the ICT industry. Prior to his role at Verizon Business, he was a lead partner in the financial services consulting practice for IBM GBS in Australia. He has also held senior management and executive positions at Siebel Systems, Telstra Corporation, AAP Communications Services, AusMosys, Ferntree Computer Systems and Microsoft over a twenty plus year career in the ICT industry.
Gauci is the Victoria Chair of the AIIA and has a Bachelor of Education Degree in Arts as well as completing post graduate studies. He is also a member of the International CEO Forum, on the Board of Governors for the American Chamber of Commerce and has held a number of board positions.
He is married with five children. He has also a long history of active involvement in Australian Rules Football at junior development level as well as a keen passion for music and golf.
Reasons for nominating and qualities brought to the board:
My commitment to the industry over the past twenty years, and particularly through the AIIA over the past 6 years, is to a strong, vibrant ICT economy and community.
As Australia domestically, and through its global interests moves through the next era of challenges, it is critical that through the industry representation and leadership provided by the AIIA, we maintain and indeed continue to develop our potential.
We have proven our ability to lead the world in the development and use of technology so now more than ever we need passion regarding continuing industry development, strong leadership and a proven ability to deal with and negotiate mutually beneficial outcomes with government. I believe that this is the experience I can bring to complement the existing AIIA Board.
