AIIA's ValueICT campaign, launched in 2006, demonstrates that our industry is not only an important sector in its own right, but a driver of productivity, job growth, social advancement and economic prosperity for all Australians.

Through ValueICT, AIIA lobbies governments, media and the wider business community to truly value the nation's ICT sector and to work together to elevate Australia's status on the world stage to that of a knowledge economy.

• accounts for 4.6 percent of GDP
• makes a greater contribution to GDP than the agriculture, forestry, fishing, defence and education sectors
• drives 85% of productivity growth in the manufacturing sector and up to 78% in the services sector
• is the fundamental driver of employment in Australia today, employing more than 500,000 Australians across the economy
• contributes AUD $4.6 billion in exports.
