The AIIA’s new CEO, Ron Gauci, has led the transformation of several organisations across different industries including Verizon, Melbourne Storm, Federation Square and Melbourne Polytechnic where he turned adversity into opportunity. Ron shares his method for true transformational change as he also shares his plans for the AIIA.

Warren Harding, Minister for Health’s Nominee, Sustainable Health Review will also be speaking at the event. Warren will provide an update on the Sustainable Health Review and other digital health initiatives.

Ron Gauci

CEO, Australian Information Industry Association

Ron has spent more than 30 years as a leader in the global technology, sports and education sectors, having previously served as CEO at Federation Square, Melbourne Storm and Melbourne Polytechnic (formerly NMIT). He’s also held senior positions in some of the largest multinational and domestic technology organisations including Microsoft, Telstra and IBM.

Ron is very familiar with the AIIA’s strategic vision and approach having previously served as Chair of AIIA’s Victoria Council.

As CEO of the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club, Ron navigated the organisation through a challenging period in its history to reach an unprecedented level of success as an NRL powerhouse. He also built and implemented a successful strategy for Melbourne Polytechnic, which is today recognised as a leader in dual sector education in Australia.

Described as a transformative leader, Ron is well known for his expertise in working with organisations to achieve growth through the development and execution of visionary planning. He brings strategic rigour, commercial acumen and compassion to the challenge of leading teams through change.

Warren Harding

Minister for Health’s Nominee, Sustainable Health Review

Warren is the WA Minister for Health’s nominee on the Sustainable Health Review of the WA Health sector. He has a deep interest in sustainability, digital health & innovation, informatics and the workforce of the future, talent and diversity.

As the Principal of his international consulting firm he is a regular speaker on AI, Automation, the impact on jobs, work and STEM under Industry 4.0 & is a change agent. He co-founded the new WA Institute into the Future of Work and works closely with the Cisco Innovation IoT Centre.

He graduated from UWA with 1st Class Hons B.Sc, a Grad Dip Media AFTRS; a British Council Scholar at the London School of Economics, an Adjunct Professorship at the Curtin Business School and was Chair of the Advisory Board of the School of Information Systems and a Friend of the Grattan Inst.

He is former External Adviser to McKinsey having had a 25 year international career in Strategic, Talent & Technology Consulting to many of the world’s largest Fortune 500 companies and governments including 8 years in Singapore.

He is a Senior Adviser to a select group of world leading technology firms. He was former Ministerial Adviser to the Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development and was involved in IT industry development, Health and Treasury.

He has operated at Managing Partner level of global Tier 1 consulting firms for over 20 years including CapGemini, Accenture, PWC, Deloitte as Asia Pacific leader, led large technology and strategy consulting practices; held Energy Industry Leader; Client Account Lead and ANZ Sales lead roles for Natural Resources /Oil & Gas(conv/ unconventional,downstream) Mining, Utilities, Public Sector and Health IT.

He has delivered large complex systems implementations including ERP and cloud services, IO, AO, BPO.

He is former Vice President and was Chair of the Nominations Ctee at Tennis West 2012-18. He was recently appointed to the Board of Alzheimer’s WA.
