Join us for the launch of the WA ICT Industry Position Paper: Future State: How ICT & Digital can improve our WA Economy.

Official Launch by the Hon Dave Kelly MLA, Minister for Water; Fisheries; Forestry; Innovation and ICT; Science.  Keynote from the Executive Director of NSW Government Technology Platforms, ICT and Digital Government and industry update on GovNext.

Including an update from OGCIO and the GovNext vendors – Atos, Datacom & NEC.

Western Australians know we need to broaden our economy, to become more diverse and dynamic, and build on our natural strengths. Our future prosperity hinges on our ability to innovate, which in turn will drive jobs, growth and increase our global competitiveness.

There are many examples of economic transformation driven through technology, such as Singapore, Israel, Silicon Valley, post-war Japan, Finland and Estonia. All demonstrate what is possible by setting a strategic direction, harnessing the best that exists and executing to a clear vision. Most of these examples started from a much lower base than WA enjoys.

The AIIA has been working closely with industry, Government, Research and Academia to bring together the WA ICT Industry Position Paper "Future State: How Technology can improve our WA Economy".

ICT is unique in that it is relevant to all sectors of the economy, it enables business at all levels, is key to education and applies across all factors of production.  However, it is a double-edged sword.  On one hand, it can deliver significant impact as a force multiplier to amplify and accelerate outcomes.  On the other hand, if it is left unmanaged, it can bring large scale disruption as seen in so many sectors and regions in recent years.

Join industry and government representatives for the official launch of the ICT Industry Position Paper.  This will be officially launched by the Minister for Innovation and ICT, the Hon Dave Kelly MLA, followed by a keynote from Simon Geraghty, Executive Director, Government Technology Platforms, ICT and Digital Government, NSW Department of Finance, Services and Innovation, and an update on GovNext from the Office of the Government CIO and the GovNext vendors – Atos, Datacom and NEC.  Simon will be sharing learnings, insights and opportunities from NSW Government.

A must attend event, don’t miss this opportunity!
